PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for manufacturing a lower aliphatic carboxylic acid ester by esterifying a lower aliphatic carboxylic acid with a lower alcohol in a gaseous phase, excellent in initial activity and capable of stably performing the continuous reaction over a long period of time. SOLUTION: The catalyst for manufacturing the lower aliphatic carboxylic acid ester is constituted by supporting at least one heteropoly-acid and/or a salt thereof on an inorganic carrier. The method for manufacturing the catalyst and the method for manufacturing the lower aliphatic carboxylic acid ester by the catalyst are also disclosed.
