PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device and a method for fabricating the same are provided to make an RGB(Red,Green,Blue) color filter of an upper substrate have a little difference in thickness for each position to maintain flatness, and to differ thickness of each position of an alignment layer corresponding to the RGB color filters, so as to differ motion of liquid crystal for each pixel when applying identical voltage to each pixel and compensate a color balance. CONSTITUTION: A transparent substrate(33), an RGB color filter(34), a common electrode, and an alignment layer(35) are sequentially formed in an upper substrate. A TFT(Thin-Film Transistor) array including a transparent electrode(31) and a pixel electrode, and an alignment layer(32) are formed in a lower substrate. The upper substrate and the lower substrate is distant by a spacer(36), and liquid crystal(37) is injected therein. The alignment layer(35) of the upper substrate has different thickness for each position corresponding to each color element(R,G,B) of the color filter(34). And the alignment layer(32) of the lower substrate has different thickness for each position corresponding to each color element(R,G,B) of the color filter(34).
