PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a fluorine-substituted sulfur- containing compound that is safer than the conventional production process. SOLUTION: In this method of producing a fluorine-substituted sulfur- containing compound, a sulfoxide is allowed to react with a compound represented by the following general formula (A) (R1-R4 are each independently an alkyl or an aryl; R1 and R3 may bond to each other to form a 5-membered or 6-membered ring, further R1 and R2 or R3 and R4 may mutually bond to form one or two heterocyclic ring). One of the hydrogen atoms directly linking to theα-carbon atom of the sulfoxide group is substituted with a fluorine atom to produce a sulfur-containing compound wherein the oxygen atom of the sulfoxide is eliminated.
