PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric water heater which can reduce the electric consumption at the time of heat retention, and of which the economical efficiency is high, in the electric water heater which heats and keeps warm of a housed liquid. SOLUTION: The core material 10a of a vacuum heat-insulating material 10 which is located on the outer peripheral section of a container 5 is solidified. Thus, the vacuum heat-insulating material 10 can be stabilized in a free shape. Therefore, the contact between the vacuum heat-insulating material and the container can be increased. Also, heat-radiation at the upper end section and the lower end section can be suppressed, and the consumption power at the time of heat retention can be reduced.
