PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve mechanization of operation and saving of space for arranging directions of fish heads in two directions in a head direction-arranging apparatus for fish bodies used for a treating step of small fishes. SOLUTION: In this head direction-arranging apparatus 1 equipped with a chute for alignment of small fishes comprising a part 3 for arranging the fishes in the head direction, a part 5 for arranging the fishes in the dorso-ventral direction and a chute 6 for alignment, a rotating brush 52 and a rotating roller 51 having a fish body-catching part 511, a part 512 having small frictional resistance and formed between adjacent fish body-catching parts are oppositely arranged in the arranging part 5, and the chute 6 for alignment is composed of a feed chute 61 having a fish body-feeding part 611 for throwing down the fish body F to a carrying part 7 and a throwing-down port 612, a reversible chute 62 having a fish body-feeding part 621 for reverting head direction of the fish bodies F and throwing down the fish bodies F to the carrying part 7, a reversing part 623 and a throwing down port 622, and the throwing down port 612 and the throwing down port 622 are installed in a state opened toward mutually opposed direction.
