<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing toners which is capable of yielding small-grain size toners sharp in a grain size distribution. SOLUTION: Pulverizing means having a powder feed port 311 for feeding the material to be coarsely pulverized into the pulverizing means, a stator 310, a rotor 314 and a powder discharge port 302 for discharging the powder from the pulverizing means. The stator includes the rotor and the rotor is so arranged that the surface of the stator and the surface of the rotor have a prescribed spacing, by which a pulverizing zone is formed. The material, to be coarsely pulverized by accompanying the rotation of the rotor in the pulverizing zone. Both of the rotor and the stator have plural projecting parts of a corrugation shape and recessed parts formed between the projecting parts and the projecting parts. The recessed parts possessed by at least either of the rotor and the stator have flat surfaces on their bottoms. The material is pulverized and treated under conditions under which Tg of the toner binder resin is 45 to 75 deg.C and the temperature T1 of a swirling chamber of a pulverizing machine is lower by 60 to 75 deg.C than Tg and the temperature T2 of the chamber after pulverizing is lower by 5 to 30 deg.C than Tg.</p> |
