PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic vending machine capable of exhibiting an expiration date (available period) of a commodity to a purchaser. SOLUTION: A commodity selecting button 25 is provided with a depression detecting mechanism 11 and a display device 23. A storing device 3 stores the expiration date and the price of each commodity. When a user throws in predetermined money or more, the expiration date of the commodity is read out by a control part 4 from the storing device 3 and outputted to the display device 23, thereby displaying the expiration date of the commodity on the commodity selecting button 25. The control part 4 sends the expiration date of the commodity to an external management device through a communication interface 6. If the external management device detects the expiration date which is imminent from the sent data, it sends a discount command to the control part 4. The control part 4 discounts the commodity by receiving the command.
