PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope in which the influence of a background noise can be removed simply and which can obtain a microscope image having a superresolution property and a superior picture quality. SOLUTION: A quantity of emitted light detected when only a second beam of lightλ2 is irradiated is subtracted from a quantity of emitted light detected when a sample 7 stained with molecules comprising three electron states including at least a ground state is irradiated with a first beam of lightλ1 used to transit the molecules from the ground state to a first excitation state and the second beam of lightλ2 used to transit the molecules from the first excitation state to a second excitation state having a higher energy level simultaneously so as to be overlapped at least partly. The influence of the background noise generated secondarily by the sample 7 irradiated with the second beam of lightλ2 is removed. The microscope image which has the superresolution property and whose picture quality is superior is obtained. |
