PURPOSE: A method for checking a cable is provided, which can check whether a cable is out of order or not rapidly. CONSTITUTION: A cable checking system(100) includes a plurality of cable connectors(110) where cables(1) are inserted, and an I/O card(120) applying a voltage to each cable connector and reading input data, and a computer(130) checking a state of the cable using data inputted from the I/O card. According to the method, a process of applying a voltage to a random connector among the plurality of cable connectors and then reading input data is performed repetitively. Input data whose bit value is 1 is converted into an integer. And an index whose integer value is 1 is stored. The stored index is compared with a look-up table. Then, the state of the cable is displayed according to the comparison result.
