FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed fuel system of internal combustion engine has fuel supply device, device to prepare and supply fuel-air mixture into engine cylinders, atmospheric air processing device made closed container with water connected by outlet branch pipe with air inlet of device for preparation and supply of fuel-air mixture, and tank with water. System is furnished with water level and processed air temperature controls arranged in main container. Additional container is connected through spacer bushing with main container forming inlet branch pipe of air processing device by its inner surface and outer surface of main container in bottom of which holes are made. Inlet branch pipe of air processing device communicates with atmosphere. Water level control is made in form of normally open shut-off valve consisting of housing with seat, float and plunger and connected by inlet channel with tank, and by outlet channel, with main container. Temperature control placed in electric circuit and in circuit of heater arranged in water. EFFECT: improved efficiency of system at all modes of operation, simplified design, reduced overall dimensions, enhanced reliability, reduced cost of equipment, reduced toxicity of exhaust gases, cut down fuel consumption by 10% minimum, increased power output of engine by 6%, facilitated starting of engine, reduced content of CO, CH, NOx and smoke in exhaust gases. 11 cl, 3 dwg
