PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting method of a steel pipe capable of reducing a gap between a joint pipe and the steel pipe as small as possible and surely and quickly carrying out connecting work at a low cost when a joint member is placed on the circumference of the steel pipe. SOLUTION: A resin or an adhesive is applied to the inside of the joint member having a circular arc-shaped section or an approximatelyσ-shaped section, the applied joint member is placed to the circumference of a butt section of the steel pipe, and the joint member is pushed against the steel pipe.
