PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display easily carrying out motions other than displaying a picture to be displayed. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display part D1 of the liquid crystal display is provided with a fluorescent plate 26 emitting light by receiving ultraviolet rays, a liquid crystal display panel 10 displaying the picture by light transmission and a first to third light sources 14R, G, B respectively emitting red, green and blue light and a fourth light source 14UV emitting ultraviolet rays as a backlight light source 14 to make the light irradiate the rear surface of the liquid crystal display panel 10 via a light guide plate 24. The first to fourth light sources 14R, G, B, UV are successively turned on and simultaneously the liquid crystal display panel 10 is driven being synchronized with the turning on. Consequently the liquid crystal display panel 10 display a color picture by additive color mixing. On the other hand, because the fluorescent plate 26 displays a fluorescent colored picture by receiving the ultraviolet rays, buttons, etc., for input are easily displayed independently of the color picture to be displayed. |
