PURPOSE: An electronic book is provided to distribute the electronic book depending on the support by a shopping mall operator, to save the communication cost by making a user not to maintain a terminal loaded with the electronic book in the on-line state all the time, and to make the user easily purchase the bibliographies and the articles related with the electronic book. CONSTITUTION: The electronic book comprises a text(24) and an annotation(26). The electronic book is displayed on a display(22) of a terminal(20) of an open type network system comprising a server(10), the terminal(20), and the Internet(30). The display(22) is controlled by the central processing unit of the terminal(20). The files of the electronic book are stored in a storage connected with the central processing unit and displayed on the display(22) under the control of the central processing unit. The central processing unit of the server(10) is connected with a shopping mall(12). The shopping mall(12) is stored in the storage of the server, and downloaded with response to an external call. An authentication module for the payment is loaded in the shopping mall(12).
