SURFACE HARDENING TREATMENT METHOD AND THRUST DISK USING THE TREATMENT METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize gas shielding by preventing the damage of a laser beam machine by reflected light in a hardening treatment method for a sliding surface of a thrust disk. SOLUTION: This method has a blasting process step of subjecting the surface of the thrust disk to metal blast treatment so as to impart ruggedness thereto, a melting process step of melting the surface by irradiating the surface with a laser beam after the blasting process step, a hardening process step of forming a hardened layer by a self-cooling effect and a removing process step of removing the segment having a considerable residual tensile stress after the hardening process step.
