PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double bearing reel for fishing, capable of sufficiently exhibiting waterproof performance and keeping good reel function under conditions in which the environment used is severe. SOLUTION: As described in the claim 1, in the double bearing reel for fishing equipped with a clutch mechanism for changing over a spool rotatably supported between side plates to a spool-free state and a fishline-winding state by a clutch detaching operation of a pinion attached to the interior of side plates of a reel body, a seal material is installed between the pinion and the peripheral member oppositely arranged in the diameter direction. As described in the claim 2, in the double bearing reel for fishing described in the claim 1, the seal material is installed between the outer periphery of a supporting shaft and the internal circumference of the pinion by the supporting shaft supporting the pinion rotatably and slidably to the shaft direction.
