PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ester compound and its production method, giving a cured material excellent in adhesion to several kinds of base materials and other several properties. SOLUTION: The ester compound has at least one structure shown by general formula (1). This ester compound is produced by reacting (a) a compound having at least one carboxylic group and (b) an oxetane compound shown by general formula (2) in the presence of a reaction promoter. As the reaction promoter, at least one kind selected from a group composed of tertiary amines, tertiary phosphines, quaternary onium salts, crown ether complexes, phosphonium ylides, metallic salts of organic acid, metal halides and metal hydroxides, is used. In the formula, R is a hydrogen atom or a 1-6C alkyl group.
