PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorption refrigerating machine capable of reducing loss due to ineffective refrigerant as well as preventing change in refrigeration capacity. SOLUTION: The refrigerating machine uses water as a refrigerant and a water solution of salts as an absorbing medium, and comprises an evaporator E, an absorber A, a condenser C and a regenerator G. A refrigerant heating/ condensing unit 7 for introducing the refrigerant in the evaporator and heating and condensing the refrigerant is provided. The unit 7 can use, as a heat source, the refrigerant 18 flowing from the condenser to the evaporator or cold water 6 cooled by the evaporator. The unit 7 may be provided with a passage for guiding vapor in the condenser to the evaporator E or the absorber A and a passage 21 for guiding the liquid in the condenser 7 to the solution line of the absorber A and/or the evaporator E. A passage 23 for guiding the solution in the unit to the liquid line of the absorber A is preferably provided with a control valve 3 controlled in such manner as to preferentially return the refrigerant, when the refrigerant is returned to a solution circulating line.
