PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone search system by which position information on a portable telephone as a search object due to map information can be obtained without having map data at a request source and by which the position information on the portable telephone as the search object can be obtained without the intermediary of a specific control installation. SOLUTION: The portable telephone 1 calculates the position information on the portable telephone 1 on the basis of radio waves from a GPS satellite, it transmits the position information and searcher information used to discriminate a searcher to a map information server 2 according to a position- information transmission command to be transmitted from the side of the searcher, and it reports an address of the server 2 to the side of the searcher. On the basis of the position information received from the portable telephone 1, the server 2 generates the map information with an added prescribed mark in a position instructed by the position information to corresponding map data, and it transmits the corresponding map information toward the side of the searcher according to a request from the side of the searcher. |
