FILTER PRESS WITH CAKE DRYER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dehydrated cake dryer utilizing the time during the dehydration process of a filter press to dispense with a surplus installation area and a transport device. SOLUTION: A drying hopper (11) is arranged in the vicinity of the lower part of the filtrate receiving pan (6) of the filter press (1) and the upper open port (11a) of the drying hopper (11) is hermetically closed by the filtrate receiving pan (6) while a drying air jet chamber (15) is provided to the bottom part of the drying hopper (11) and the jet chamber (15) is sealed by the hopper tray (12) for closing the bottom part of the drying hopper (11) to provide a moist air exhaust box (17) at the proper place of the peripheral wall of the drying hopper (11). A dehydrated cake allowed to fall becomes a uniform pile thickness to be directly dried and the whole of the dehydrated cake can be equally dried. The dried cake reduced in water content is reduced in weight and volume to be fed easily. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
