A platen gap adjusting apparatus and a printer are provided to decrease the size of the platen gap adjusting apparatus, and to fasten a cam or an eccentric shaft securely by adjusting the distance between a platen and a print head. A platen gap adjusting apparatus includes a guide shaft moving and supporting a carriage loading a print head, a first attachment member(23a) having a first attachment shaft eccentrically arranged to a shaft hole combined with the guide shaft and a first attachment assembling part deciding position, a second attachment member(23b) having a second attachment shaft eccentrically arranged to the shaft hole, a second attachment assembling part deciding position and stopping axial movement of the guide shaft, a frame having an attachment hole combined with the first and second attachment shafts, first frame assembling parts combined with the first attachment assembling part and second frame assembling parts combined with the second attachment assembling part, and a press member combining the first and second attachment assembling parts with the first and second frame assembling parts. The first attachment member has first assembling arms protruded from the first attachment shaft and provided with the first attachment assembling parts, and the second attachment member has second assembling arms protruded from the second attachment shaft and provided with the second attachment assembling parts.
