PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter medium of a horizontal filter plate type filter capable of certainly sucking the filter medium one by one to always supply the same to an accurate position of a filtering part and capable of also certainly discharging the filter medium from the filtering part. SOLUTION: A plurality of horizontal filter plates are stacked in an up and down direction so as to be made possible to separate and fasten and sheetlike filter media cut into a size having the area corresponding to the filtering part are arranged between the filter plates to form the filtering part and the supply of the filter media is performed by providing a filter medium supply means wherein at least a part of each of the filter media is sucked by the suction plate of a filter medium suction means to be raised up to be clamped by a clamp mechanism and each of the filter media is moved and supplied to each of the gaps between the filter plates. In this horizontal filter plate type filter, at least the part sucked by the suction plate of each filter medium is formed as an air impermeable part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
