PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid - liquid separator having a high separation capacity level. SOLUTION: The solid - liquid separator is equipped with a vertical cylindrical body-shaped tank body, an introducing pipe equipped with a first pipe extending inward from outside through the peripheral body part of the tank body and the second pipe communicating with the first pipe and upwardly extending through the almost central part of the tank body and introducing water to be treated like scum-containing water into the tank body to lead out the same through the lead out end port provided in the upper end of the second pipe, a first attenuation control cylinder having a cylindrical body shape opened at its lower end and concentrically arranged so as to be spaced apart from the outer periphery of the lead-out end port to receive water to be treated from the lead-out end port not only to attenuate the blow-up energy of water to be treated in the inner region of the lead-out end port but also to lead out the same from the lower end opening, a second attenuation control cylinder, a separation control cylinder and a separated water lead-out part arranged around the outer periphery of the separation control cylinder and receiving the separated water from the upper end of the separation control cylinder to exclude the same.
