<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ETC system capable of preventing the illegal use of an on- vehicle equipment, and improving the convenience of a user. <P>SOLUTION: This system is provided with a means 15 for detecting that the vehicle kind of an entering vehicle, a first traffic lane control means for judging the coincidence/non-coincidence of the detected vehicle kind information and the vehicle kind information registered in on-vehicle equipment, and for outputting on-vehicle equipment use information including on-vehicle equipment ID and the vehicle kind judgement processing result, a central unit for totaling the use information obtained from each first traffic line control means, and for preparing the list of the on-vehicle equipment whose integral values of the non-coincidence of the vehicle kind judgement processing result exceed a reference value, and a second traffic lane control means for retrieving the on-vehicle ID of the entering vehicle from the list, and for stopping the ETC of the vehicle carried in the list. When the on-vehicle equipment is mounted on the registered vehicle, the ETC can be prevented from being stopped due to any vehicle kind detection mistake or the allocation deviation of the vehicle kind information, and the number of times of stop due to such mistake can be reduced.
