PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable updating processing by one-touch, in addition to the transfer processing of a photographed image and image data by connecting a digital camera with a PC via a network. SOLUTION: An IP address, a user name, a password and an acquisition source directory which are the items of communication information of a connection destination are input in a digital camera 1 from an LCD/touch panel part 11, and registered in a RAM 5. Connection of the camera 1 with a cradle 20 is detected with a port connection part 23. The camera 1 is connected with a PC 31 of the IP address of the connection destination which is previously registered in the camera 1, by controlling an LAN controller part 21 via a bus connection part 24. After the connection, transfer to the directory storing a process program file of the PC 31 is performed. Whether the process program file exists is confirmed to make an acquisition process. An acquisition process program file is compared with version of the process program file of the camera 1, and change to a new process program file is performed and informed.
