PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of parts and an adjustment cost in manufacturing and also to attain space-saving by using a laser light source and a scanning polygon mirror for all colors in common for an image exposure unit in a color image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus using a lens for the purposes of the fθcorrection of a laser light beam, deflection in a perpendicular direction to a scanning direction and image formation on (n) (n≥3) latent image carriers by rotating and scanning while reflecting a single laser light beam by one polygon mirror possesses two angles which are made different for every other surface to the rotary shaft of a reflection surface on two or more even number of the surfaces of the polygon mirror, and the laser light beam is deflected by it, or the lens is bisected in the scanning direction at first, and one of them is divided into the total of (n) by (n-1) division in the scanning direction, and the advancing direction of the laser light beam is respectively deflected to the total of (n) directions, that means, one direction and (n-1) directions, so that image exposure for the total of (n) colors is attained.
