PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system capable of effectively preventing the unauthorized copy of digital contents at a low cost. SOLUTION: The system is composed of a digital content read control program recorded in a recording medium 3 together with the digital contents to be protected, to be read to the storage device of a computer to control the read of the digital contents to be protected to the computer on the basis of a cipher inputted to the computer, and a cipher quick reference board 1. The operation of the cipher quick reference board is instructed on the basis of a random number in the digital content read control program read to the computer, the cipher read from the cipher quick reference board operated according to the instruction is inputted to the computer and thus the unauthorized copy of the digital contents is prevented.
