This disclosure relates generally to couplings used in mining and other applications. An extraction device (572) for removing an adapter (520) from a port (562) formed in a structure (564) is provided. The extraction device (572) may include an end wall (574) and a side wall (576). The end wall may define an external face of the extraction device. The side wall may extend axially away from a periphery of the end wall. The side wall may terminate at an end face (580) of the extraction device. The end face may have a larger dimension than the port so as to abut the structure adjacent to a periphery of the port. The side wall may include an inner surface (576d) and an outer surface (576c). The inner surface may have a threaded portion (586).
