PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent planar cellulose acylate film which is obtained by flowing and spreading an organic solvent solution of a cellulose acylate on a metal support, then releasing the cellulose acylate film containing the organic solvent from the metal support, and drying the film. SOLUTION: The cellulose acylate solution is characterized in that it comprises a cellulose acylate and a chlorine-free organic solvent, in that the particle size distribution of the solution detected by a dynamic light scattering measuring method depends on the temperature, and in that the particle size distribution has two or more peaks above 10°C and only one peak below 10°C.
