PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element having a high open voltage, and enhanced in photoelectric conversion efficiency.

SOLUTION: This photoelectric conversion element comprises a semiconductor layer electrode, an opposite electrode, and an electrolyte solution. The electrolyte solution contains an amino pyrimidine-based compound expressed by general formula (I), wherein R1, R2, R3and R4are each independently a hydrogen atom, a 1-6C alkyl group or a 1-6C alkoxy group. At least one of R1, R2, R3and R4is one or more kinds of compounds expressed by general formula (II), wherein R5and R6are each independently a hydrogen atom or a 1-6C alkyl group; R5and R6may form a cyclic structure by being bonded to each other; and (k) is an integer of 0-6.
