<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device in which a proper exposure compensation value may be set to the image pickup device by eliminating the influence of an error caused by characteristics of lens units mounted on the image pickup device such as a camera or of an error caused by characteristics of optical members within a main body of the image pickup device. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging element receives the light passing through a photographing lens mounted on the main body and outputs an image signal, a photometric sensor receives the light passing through the photographing lens and outputs luminance information, and a control means sets a first exposure compensation value on the basis of the luminance information outputted by the photometric sensor to allow the imaging element to perform first storage of the passed light on the basis of the first exposure compensation value, and sets a second exposure compensation value on the basis of the first stored result to allow the imaging device to perform second storage of the passed light on the basis of the second exposure compensation value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
