<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent air bubbles from remaining in the interior when sealing the rear side of a circuit board mounted in a closed-end cup-like cylindrical body by potting material and to eliminate an obstacle to expected effectiveness such as heat dissipation, moisture proof, drip proof or the like. <P>SOLUTION: In the axial fan, the drive circuit is packed with and buried in the potting material in order to prevent the drive circuit from exposure to the open air. The drive circuit is fitted in and held by an inner peripheral surface of the cup-like cylindrical body integrally formed with a venturi case through a retaining member having elasticity. A hole is formed in the bottom of the cylindrical body. The hole serves as an inlet through which the potting material is filled in the space surrounded by the bottom of the cup-like cylindrical body and the circuit board fitted in and held by the elastic member. Preferably, the retaining member having elasticity has an inner periphery with a shape fitting to the outer peripheral edge of the circuit board, so as to be fitted on the circuit board. Alternatively, the retaining member is integrally formed with the circuit board so as to be made in press-contact with and held by the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
