<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal projection device preventing the deterioration of the polarization performance of a polarizing plate on an emitting side even when incident light quantity gets large, and able to meet a demand such as high luminance and low cost. <P>SOLUTION: A projection lens 41 is constituted of a 1st lens group 42, a 2nd lens group 44 and a reflection type polarizing plate 43 arranged between them, and the polarizing plate 43 reflects linearly polarized light necessary to make the color of a video projected and displayed to a desired color of the light modulated by liquid crystal panels 31r, 31g and 31b and guides it to the 2nd lens group 44, transmits unnecessary linearly polarized light and guides it to the outside of the lens 41. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
