<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To unify the storage configurations of character data regardless of its input format. <P>SOLUTION: A server device 4 receives first input data D1 from a client device 5, and converts first character data d1<SB>1-m</SB>stored in an input area a<SB>1-m</SB>of the first input chart data D1 into second input data D2 constituted by associating second character data d2<SB>1-m</SB>dividable into text data t1<SB>1-m</SB>and typesetting information t2<SB>1-p</SB>, wherein arbitrary type setting information t2<SB>1-x</SB>is selectively separated and extracted from the typesetting information t2<SB>1-p</SB>with the input area a<SB>1-m</SB>of the input chart 10.
