The damper has a plunger piston (10) with a piston ring (12) sliding at an interior of a primary chamber (13) in a guide cylinder. The ring has a calibrated flow-through orifice for a high viscosity fluid that partially fills the primary chamber. The cylinder has two secondary chambers (15, 16) on each side of the primary chamber. The secondary chambers are insulated with respect to the primary chamber using the fluid.
