<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust-pipe joint structure by which rotation of exhaust pipes before being set up can be surely prevented without adding an extra hanger point. <P>SOLUTION: In the exhaust-pipe joint structure, a tapered part 1a broadened toward the end of one exhaust pipe 1 is pinched between a mail flange 3 fixed on the end of the other exhaust pipe 2 and a female flange 4 of an independent part. Bolts 5 are inserted in bolt holes 3b, 4b made in outer peripheral parts of the male flange 3 and the female flange 4, and both the parts are tightened by nuts 6. Thus, both exhaust pipes 1, 2 are tightly jointed by wedge effect. A plurality of spots in the peripheral direction in the tapered part 1a of the exhaust pipe 1 are spot-welded beforehand to concave parts 4a constituting a pinch-holding face on the female flange 4, and the whole area in the tapered part 1a including the spot-welded points 10 is pinched between the male flange 3 and the female flange 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
