<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display apparatus which can sufficiently stabilize alignment of a liquid crystal and has display quality equal to or superior to a conventional one by a relatively simple configuration having an alignment controlling structure of radially inclined alignment disposed only on one substrate, in a liquid crystal display apparatus having a plurality of radially inclined alignment domains in pixels. <P>SOLUTION: The display apparatus is equipped with: a first substrate; a second substrate disposed opposing to the first substrate; a vertical alignment liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate; a plurality of pixels each having a first electrode formed on the first substrate, a second electrode formed on the second substrate and the liquid crystal layer between the first and second electrodes; and a wall structure regularly arranged in the liquid crystal layer side of the first electrode. When at least a prescribed voltage is applied, at least one liquid crystal domain showing a radially inclined alignment state in an area substantially surrounded by the wall structure is formed in the liquid crystal layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
