PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce as much as possible, an amount of residue of a dry film to be left at a part where the dry film is not present in the case where the dry film of an alkali development type is developed and patterned by a liquid developer.

SOLUTION: The liquid developer of the alkali development type dry film contains at least one metal compound selected from the group of alkali metal compounds and alkaline-earth metal compounds, and at least one surface active agents.
