<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply device that can check a battery in the current usage state, and can manage the battery, such as proper charging/discharging control adapted to the battery, whatever type of battery may be connected to it. <P>SOLUTION: Power feeding is conducted, by using the output of the battery 6 and the output of a generator driven by an engine. A battery voltage V, a battery current I and a battery atmospheric temperature T are detected by a detection part 21, a battery capacity and a discharging rate are estimated by a battery capacity calculation part 23 and a discharging rate calculation part 25, and a discharging permissible time is obtained by a discharging permissible time calculating part 26. The discharging time of the battery 6 is limited by using the discharging permissible time.
