<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a high resolution image restored accurately down to the details of an original image. <P>SOLUTION: A similarity degree detecting means 13 is designed to calculate the amount of features of the texture of the original image and amount of features of texture of each representative image, and to detect the similarity degree between the original image and each representative image, after comparing the calculated amount of the features of the texture. Study data set selecting means 15 is designed to select a study data set relating to the representative image, having the most high similarity degree detected by the similarity degree detecting means 13.
