摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving device for a light emission display panel that can easily detect, in particular, a pixel entering a short-circuit state without increasing a circuit scale so much. <P>SOLUTION: Disclosed is an active drive type light emission display device which has a display panel constituted by arraying light emitting pixels comprising driving transistors Q11 to Qnm and light emitting elements E11 to Enm for display in a matrix corresponding to respective power supply lines P1 to Pn. In the display panel, anodes of light emitting elements E01 to E0n for inspection are connected by the power supply lines P1 to Pn. In a light emission display period shown in Fig., the light emitting elements E11 to Enm for display are driven between a 1st potential point Van and a 2nd potential point Vca to illuminate. In an inspection period, switches SW1 to SW3 are set to the reverse state of the state shown in Fig and the respective light emitting elements are placed in a scan state. If one of the light emitting elements E11 to Enm for display has a defect of a short circuit, the light emitting elements EO1 to E0n corresponding to the supply lines P1 to Pn illuminate in the timing of its scan and then the defect state can be recognized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
