摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a lowering of efficiency of the whole device even when the efficiency of an engine is lowered by changing the operation point of the engine to the high rotating speed/low torque side so as not to cause recirculation of energy in a power output device equipped with the engine and motors. <P>SOLUTION: In this power output device 110, a crankshaft 156 of the engine 150 is provided with a power distribution mechanism based on a planetary gear, and the motors MG1, MG2. When the operation point of the engine 150 is changed to the high rotating speed/low torque side so as not to cause recirculation of energy, control is performed not to throttle the throttle valve opening TA. An increase in the pumping loss of the engine 150 is thereby suppressed to improve the lowering of efficiency of the whole device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
