<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system and a control program for the printing system, which properly notifies everyone of the state of a printer. <P>SOLUTION: This printing system 1 comprises a personal computer 10 and the printer 30. A CPU 12 acquires status information showing the state of the printer 30 (S4, S33). Based on a status code of the acquired status information, the CPU 12 acquires voice status text information from a status database 21 (S42, S53, S54). The voice status text information is input to a voice control circuit 19, and the CPU 12 notifies the state of the printer 30 by voice (S43, S55).
