<p>Title cpds (II) is prepd from 7-chloro (or bromo)6-methoxy 2-naphthyl methyl ketone by (i) reacting with KCN at 60 degree to give the hydantoin (ii) hydrolysing (pref. with OH) and opt. methylating the amine (iii) reducing the intermediate 2-naphthyl 2-aminopropionic acid (iv) reducing the d-form with Raney-Ni or with Pd-C, Pt or PtO and H2.</p> |
