<p>A humidifier for inhalation therapy has a water container with a top cover, a water and gas inlet on the cover and an outlet for humidified gas in the cover. A gas conveying assembly in the container includes a gas delivery tube and a diffuser plate. A gas rebound chamber is defined between the diffuser plate and the bottom of the container. The major portion of the gas delivery tube extends from the plate to the inlet on the cover, while a minor portion extending below the diffuser plate is operable to maintain a gas plenum between the water in the rebound chamber and the water above the plate. The gas delivery tube joins the plate adjacent an edge portion, and the outlet passage in the cover is above an opposite end portion of the plate. The apertures in the plate spread towards the remaining edge portions.</p> |
