1353916 Antiperspirants PROCTER & GAMBLE CO 30 July 1971 [30 July 1970] 35941/71 Heading A5B [Also in Divisions C1 and C4] Antiperspirant complexes are prepared by a process which comprises the steps of:-(A) heating an aqueous solution containing from 1 to 3.2 parts by weight of aluminium chlorohydroxide to a temperature of from 190‹F to 225‹F; (B) adding an aqueous solution contaming 1 part by weight of zirconyl hydroxy chloride to the aluminium chlorohydroxide solution at such a rate that the addition takes from 2 to 5 hours, while heating and agitating the total anhydrous solids content when all the zirconyl hydroxychloride has been added being at least 10% by weight and (C) heating and agitating the aluminium chlorohydroxidezirconyl hydroxychloride mixture at a temperature of from 190‹F to 225‹F for from ¢ hour to 5 hours until a stable complex forms. The complex may then be dried at 100 to 230‹C to a moisture level of from 1 to 15% by weight and then comminuted into the form of an impalpable powder. The powder antiperspirant complex is claimed per se.
|
