<p>1400723 Mixing or promoting a turbulence JONES & ATTWOOD Ltd 13 Dec 1972 [30 Dec 1971] 60803/71 Heading BIC [Also in Division F1] Means for mixing or promoting turbulence in a liquid or liquid solid mixture comprises a gas bubble emitting device 14 formed by an inverted cup 15 having an aperture from which a skirt 16 projects, the lower edge of the skirt is above the lower edge of the cup, and means, pipe 17, for introducing a pressurised gas into the interior of the cup. As shown in Fig. 2 a riser tube 21 may be placed above the skirt and a heating jacket 23 may surround the tube. In a further embodiment the riser tube surrounds the upper end of the skirt 16 and is attached to the cup 15. Fig. 4 shows a further embodiment where the gas bubble emitting device is positioned in a separate chamber 29 apart from the main chamber 10. Conduits 31, 30 allow mixture 13 to be carried to and from chamber 29.</p> |
