1428008 Safety cap for an aerosol container KNIGHT ENG & MOLDING CO 4 Dec 1973 [5 Dec 1972] 56082/73 Heading B8T A safety cover 13 for a container 11 including a circular collar 21 having an underside 23, the collar 21 surrounding a dispensing actuator 19, comprises a top 27 having an outer skirt 29 and an inner skirt 31, a pair of lips 37 projecting from the lower end of the inner skirt 31 for engaging the underside 23 of the collar 21, a pair of slits 35 located between the lips 37 and formed in the inner skirt 31 and extending from its lower edge, and a pair of webs 39 connecting the outer skirt 29 to the side of the inner skirt 31 where the lip portions 37 are located. Webs 41 are additionally provided for strengthening the cover 13. The cover 13 is also provided with indicia 45 so that by gripping the indicia and pressing the cover 13 in the direction of the arrows, the cover 13 assumes an elliptical configuration whereby the lips 37 are disengaged from the underside 23 thereby facilitating removal of the cover 13.
