<p>Clothes peg comprises two lever which pivot relative to each other about a circular-section spindle, and a cylindrical hole which passes through the two jaws and in which is housed a traction spring which is fixed by means of two pins disposed transversely on top of the hole. The spring is pref. a coil spring, with a ring at each end extending perpendicularly to the axis of the spring, the jaws have crocodile teeth, and the spindle has a half moon-shaped projection extending towards the gripping region of the levers and arranged in grooves in the inner portions of the levers. The pins may be inclined at an angle to the spring axis so that when the peg is open, the spring is disposed further from the spindle than in the closed position of the peg.</p> |
