The bottle decapping machine removes any seals from bottle necks as they are transported by a conveyor belt, prior to filling, and has two cleaning brushes movable to and fro in the vertical and horizontal directions to match different bottle dimensions. Each brush (2) is mounted on a horizontal shaft mounted on two arms (6, 7) at right angles to it. On the underside of each arm near the free end are rack teeth (12, 13) meshing permanently with pinions on hand-operated shafts (15). These cause them to slide inside bushes (8, 9), which in turn slide on vertical columns (10, 11) fixed to the table supporting the bottle conveyor belt. The bushes accommodate the pinions and also others meshing permanently with rack teeth cut in the columns, and fixed to further hadn-operated shafts. One of the bushes (8) has an extension (19) accommodating a further pinion and shaft (21). |
