<p>An auxiliary rebreaker for synthetic and artificial fibres in tows coming from a cutting or breaking machine, or, esp. from steam treatment in an autoclave, positioned upstream in a line producing a web, has a lattice bringing a number of fibres for the formation of a single web; a pair of feeder rollers; a defelting unit with >=2 drafting units running at working speeds increasing in the direction of motion of the fibres, arranged in series, >=1 of which is assembled on the frame, so that it can be displaced lengthways, and the spacing of the roller groups altered, each group comprising an upper roller working with a pair of lower rollers; and inactive zone through which the web moves freely; a breaker zone with >=2 drafting roller groups comprising upper and lower rollers, also running at speeds increasing in the direction of motion and arranged so that the spacing of the groups can be varied, broadly similarly to those of the defelting zone, but narrower; and a collector for the processed web layering it into the cans. Keeps the ratio of shorter fibres in the web to the minimum. Prevents the development of fly caused by the unwanted collateral breaking of short fibres, and raises throughput to the maximum.</p> |
